Summary
The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for all aspects of food production in assigned school, keeping within sanitation, food cost, and scheduling guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and direct the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria.
- Assume responsibility for security of food and supplies including revenue.
- Supervise and participate in the preparation and serving of food.
- Oversee and participate in cleaning of kitchen and related areas.
- Plan work schedules, arranges for subs when required, maintain employee time records.
- Direct sanitation procedures.
- Inspect the kitchen, cooking and mixing utensils, and employees for cleanliness and sanitary purposes.
- Ensure that all equipment in the cafeteria area is in safe, working condition, and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed.
- Maintain records on food and supplies received and used.
- Maintain accurate production records conforming to federal/department guidelines.
- Train new kitchen helpers when assigned to their location.
- Determine foods/supplies to be ordered.
- Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
- Communicate with the students in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Comply with all Riverview School Board of Education policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Food Services and/or Principal.

Qualifications
Education
Volume feeding or food service experience preferred
Free from communicable disease
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
ServSafe Sanitation and Safety Course
Any certifications established by the Health Department
Skills and Abilities
Language
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos written in English; write simple correspondence; communicate one on one and in small groups; and maintain appropriate relationships with students and coworkers.
Computation
Add, subtract multiply and divide and perform those operations using units of American money and weight, volume and distance measurements.
Reasoning
Comprehend and follow detailed but basic written or oral instructions; and solve simple problems with few variables in stable conditions.
Technology
Operate a cash register and have basic skills in the use of a computer.
Physical Demands
Frequently walk short distances; continuously stand; frequently bend or twist at the neck and torso; continuously grip; occasionally reach, stoop, kneel and crouch; frequently lift ten pounds and occasionally lift fifty pounds; and use close, distance and peripheral vision.
Interpersonal Skills
Maintain effective working relationships with students, co-workers, administrators and members of the community.
Attendance
Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
